Feast of Frogs
Hop between lilypads and hunt as many flies as you can in this simple isometric platformer.
But stay on the lilypads if you want to avoid what lurks beneath.
I aimed to try using a simple setup to explore the mechanic of isometric platforming. I also recently got a drawing tablet so I thought I'd explore a hand-drawn art style for this one.
HOW TO PLAY:
- Jump: Space
- Movement: WASD / Arrow keys while jumping for horizontal AND vertical movement (helps to keep in mind the top-down perspective)
- Use your shadow to easily navigate while jumping
- Stay on the lilypads and hunt as many flies as you can
TIP: Your shadow indicates where you will land - try to keep it over lilypads.Remember you can move your landing point on both the X and Y axis.
This game was made in a week for the Alphabet Superset, a creativity challenge about making a new creative piece each week, based on letters of the alphabet.
F is for 'frog'.
Thanks for playing!

I felt the jumping controls for this game were difficult, at no point was I able to jump up or down to a lillypad (I may just be bad.).
Due to the lack of urgency, I found jumping sideways to any of the rotating lillypads and just riding it out would allow me to eat all the flies.
There are some cases where you can do up or down, and some where you can't do sideways, it's just where you do it
